Obituary: Barber, Maxine W.

Age 95

BARBER, Maxine W. (Age 95) Passed away on February 14, 2015 in Spokane, WA.

Maxine was born to Benjamin and Alvina (Webb) on January 4, 1920 in Addy, WA.

After graduation, Maxine traveled to Seattle to attend business college.

For a time, Maxine worked in the office of Nordstrom’s in downtown Seattle.

While on the west side, Maxine met Jesse “Byron” Barber; they married in 1941, in South Carolina, while Byron was in the U.S. Army.

Maxine and Byron raised their family in Spokane where Maxine was active in the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church.

Maxine spent her later years at Rockwood Retirement Community where she enjoyed care and comfort.

Maxine will be missed.

Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Byron, her daughter, Dianne, her brother, Clifford and her sister, Georgia.

Maxine will be lovingly remembered by her son John (Sindra) of Spokane and her daughter Judith Burks (Virgil) of Wallace, ID.

Also survived by her grandchildren: Duane (Lise), Kevin (Margaret), Heather (Scott Etter) and Adam Smith (Stacy) and her great-grandchildren: Anneli, Craig, Neil, Greta, and Drew.

Memorial donations in Maxine’s name may be made to Rockwood Resident’s Foundation.

Private services will be held to celebrate Maxine Barber’s life.
