RUSSELL, Regina Marie (Doherty) Was born on December 21, 1936.

She entered eternal life on February 20, 2015 in the presence of her loving family.

Born in Parsons, Kansas, the family moved to Kennewick when she was a young girl.

Regina attended Marycliff High School in Spokane, then St. Joseph’s Academy in Pendleton, Oregon.

She worked as a legal secretary and mutual friends introduced her to Paul Russell, the then Alumni Director at Gonzaga University.

They were married and made their home in Spokane for the next 54 years.

They raised three girls, together built a real estate business, and later started Russell Galleries to showcase the beauty of early 1900’s Seattle, a city which became a second home.

Regina’s was a life of humble service.

She was a founding member of Assumption Church, a champion for the elderly, and with her love and mastery of culinary pursuits, fed the bodies and souls of her family and friends.

She was a woman who loved deeply, believed wholeheartedly, and could truly light up a room with her beautiful smile.

Regina met illness with the same strength, grace, and character she exhibited throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Russell, her sisters Mary Jo (Ann) Doherty and Rita Blade, and son-in-law Andrew Druffel.

She is survived by daughters Paula Weber (Carl), Joanna Dooley (James), Karen Druffel (Andrew, deceased), granddaughters Kalah, Meeghan and Keara Dooley, sister Carolyn Kuntz, dear nieces and nephews, and many who she bestowed her motherly love upon and to whom she will always be known as Mama Gina.

Her life will be celebrated Friday, February 27 at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 3624 West Indian Trail Road, Spokane, WA 99208.

Rosary 10:00 am.

Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 am.

Interment will be at 2 pm at Holy Cross Cemetery.
