Fagan a voice of caution
The only thing missing from the campaign attacking Spokane City Councilman Mike Fagan over his stance on vaccination, which was instigated by Council President Ben Stuckart and further exacerbated by The Spokesman-Review, are pitchforks and torches to complete the medieval scene unfolding before us.
Fagan is not telling people not to vaccinate their children. He is not saying it is wrong to do so. He is simply stating that people have the right to choose to vaccinate or not based on their own research and moral convictions.
Augmenting the pitchfork-wielding mob image is the blatant lack of critical thinking on the overall issue. After all, did not the Obama administration promise us a complete prosecution of those responsible for the 2008 economic meltdown; the same Centers for Disease Control that all but mandated the swine flu vaccine; the same Food and Drug Administration that promotes genetically modified foods; and the same Merck that gave us Vioxx?
Is there not a slight possibility that Fagan might be the voice of caution calling out to a horde rushing headlong to the vats of grape Kool-Aid?
