Diamond sale in police lot

The Liberty Lake Police Department got an unusual request recently from a resident trying to sell a pair of diamond earrings valued at $10,000 on Craigslist.

The woman was apparently worried that she would be robbed while meeting a prospective buyer, said police Chief Brian Asmus. “She wanted to know if we could be her broker,” he said. “We respectfully declined.”

Asmus did suggest a solution to her problem, however. “We did offer that she could meet in our parking lot,” he said.
