Obituary: Geisbush, Louise

GEISBUSH, Louise Louise Geisbush of Kingston, Washington passed on December 22, 2014 in Harrison Hospital; Bremerton, Washington.

Her last hours were spent with her loving family as she took the lead in reminiscing over years of humorous and loving experiences her family shared.

Louise was born on December 17, 1921 in Spokane, Washington to Florence and Carl Rogers.

Louise met her husband- to- be, Robert Geisbush in Spokane, and they were married on December 29, 1941.

Together they had eight children, each one a blessing.

She spent her life loving each and every one of her children and their families.

Louise lived the majority of her life in Spokane, but recently moved to Kingston, Washington to live with her son and his wife.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband Bob who passed in 1976 and her daughter Sally who died when she was but three months old.

Louise leaves behind 66 loving children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren who will miss her dearly.

As her family gathered during her final hours and discussed memorable stories one couldn’t help but realize a common theme in Louise’s part of the story; be caring to everyone, look at the good in others, togetherness is important, and it’s the little things that count.

In addition to family gatherings, Louise loved flowers.

She was an avid gardener, she enjoyed walks wherever she was; always finding an opportunity to say hello to a neighbor or pick blackberries from a few bushes.

In her later years, you could always spot a smile on her face when she was sitting on the deck of Jon and Penny’s watching the birds, squirrels and the ships pass by in the Sound.

Louise truly made an impact in the lives she encountered.

To celebrate her long life, there will be a memorial in her hometown of Spokane.

The date will be announced at a later time.

A special thanks to Martha and Mary Retirement/Rehab Facility for taking care of Louise with much love, and to Harrison Hospital for making her final days comfortable and meaningful to her family.

At her departure to join her God and her husband, Louise leaves many family members and friends including her daughters Judy (Dan) of Spokane, Joanne (Gary) of Spokane, Karen (Walt) of Yakima, WA, and sons Larry (Helen) of Portland, Jon (Penny) of Kingston, WA, David (Sandy) of San Antonio, Texas, and Ron (Rhonda) of Spokane.

A Shakespeare quote that reminds us of Louise; “And though she be but little, she is fierce”.
