Obituary: Gilbreth, Richard Neil
He passed away on January 3, 2015 as a result of a cardiac arrest.
Dick was born in Spokane and graduated from Shadle Park High School in 1967.
He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education in 1971 from EWU.
In 1971 Dick accepted a job in Boise, ID with the Boise School District as a Speech/Language Pathologists.
In 1975 Dick completed his Masters of Science in speech Pathology and Audiology from Idaho State Univ.
Dick also was a past President of the Idaho Speech, Language and Hearing Assoc.
He worked for the Boise School District his whole career, retiring in May of 2006.
Dick was an avid Bowler, achieving his 300 game and traveling to many tournaments.
He loved fishing and had recently started that hobby again, out-fishing his sister and Joe at Lake Roosevelt.
Dick was a varsity football player and wrestler in High school so his enthusiasm for sports carried on.
He was a faithful Mariner fan, although he did question that many times.
Hockey and football was his second love of sports.
Dick had a great sense of humor and if he could get a smile from you when you were having a bad day, he considered that day a success.
Dick leaves behind his partner Dorothy King; her daughter Skye Aldridge (husband Jake and baby Elliott); his son Mitchell Gilbreth of Spokane, his son Brent Gilbreth of Kennewick and Brent’s sons, Riley and Braydon; his sister Lyn Gilbreth Ross and husband Joe of Spokane and Lincoln, Wa; sister Holly (Bob) Stevens of Spokane; brother Steve Gilbreth of Mukilteo, WA and many much loved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father James Gilbreth and mother Marilyn Gilbreth MacDowell.
