Spokane shooting leaves victim in critical condition

Associated Press
SPOKANE — Police are looking for a suspect in a shooting that left a man in critical condition about 1 a.m. Friday in Spokane, near the corner of Bridgeport Avenue and Napa Street. The victim has multiple wounds but is expected to survive. Spokane police responded to several reports of shots fired just before 1 a.m. today, according to a news release. A resident in the 1800 block of East Liberty found a bullet hole in her front window. Then emergency dispatchers got a call that there was a shooting victim on the porch of a house in the 1900 block of East Bridgeport Avenue. Officers found the victim with gunshot wounds in his chest, the release said. Detectives believe the victim and shooter are acquaintances and that it’s not a random crime. Witnesses at the scene are not cooperating with police, the release said. The investigation is still under way.
