Obituary: Martin, Thomas Edward
During his life, he accomplished many things.
After graduating from high school, he served in Vietnam with the US Marine Corps.
For many years, he provided for his family by working for the US Postal Service until his retirement at age 55.
Perhaps his greatest accomplishment was being a loving and patient son, husband, daddy and grandfather.
Tom cherished the peace and solitude of the outdoors and loved to go fishing and camping.
He passed that joy onto his family; some of our best family memories were made deep in the woods.
He also enjoyed woodworking and refurbishing antiques.
Tom is survived by his mother Joyce, his wife Sandy (Kerr), his daughters Rachel, Sadie and Magen, his grandchildren Hilary, Cole, Parker and Julie, his sister Nancy, his sister-in-law Tammy, and his nephews Chris, Ben and Mike.
He is preceded in death by his father Carl, his brothers Dan and Larry and his nephew, Nick.
Tom will be greatly missed by his family and close friends.
We’ll hold tight to our memories and think of him every day with a smile.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Spokane.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery on Tuesday, January 13th at 1:00 PM.
