Obituary: Proost, Darin Matthew

Age 40

PROOST, Darin Matthew Darin passed away on December 17th, 2014 at his home in Marysville, Wash-ington due to cardiac arrest.

He was born on July 10th, 1974 in Spokane, Washington to his parents Janice K. (Smith) LaCombe and Leon L. Proost.

Darin spent his youthful days enjoying adventures on Spokane’s South Hill with his many friends and family.

He attended Jefferson Elementary, Sacajawea Middle School and Lewis and Clark High School.

Darin will always be remembered for his infectious smile, caring personality, straightforward and witty sense of humor and his ability to live in the moment.

While Darin’s life was far too short, he definitely lived each day to its fullest.

Some of Darin’s favorite pastimes included golf, skiing, fishing at Loon Lake, hunting pheasants in Rosalia, playing basketball with his son Taylor, and the Seattle Seahawks.

Darin also shared many vacations with family and friends to various exotic destinations.

A loyal hometown sports fan, one of his fondest trips involved watching his beloved Seattle Seahawks win Super Bowl XLVIII in New York.

Darin is survived by his son Taylor Proost; father Leon (Rae) Proost; mother Janice (Paul) LaCombe; brother Scott (Cyndi) Proost; sister Lindsey (Shawn) Dunn; nephews Mathew and Jacob Proost; niece Addison Dunn and grandparents Dale and Syl LaCombe.

A celebration of Darin’s life will be held at the Lincoln Center, 1316 N. Lincoln St., Spokane Washington on Saturday, January 17th, 2015 at 2pm.
