Obituary: Curtiss, Fredrick C.

CURTISS, Fredrick C. (Age 69) He’s gone to the great Canoe Point in Heaven.

Even though Fred was an only child born to Clifford W. and Evelyn Luders he always considered his cousins as brothers and loved exaggerating hunting and fishing stories with them from around Kettle Falls.

“Bumpa” was never captured in pictures with a smile.

A big man with a bigger love of family and pets.

Lives blended and shared for 39 years with Candice L Mackie.

Children: Scott B. Curtiss, Louis W. Meuler IV (Shannon J.

), Kristina L. Crites, Sunny D. August, Clifford W. Curtiss; Grands: Chloe, Skylar, Austin, Aurora, Kennedy, Madison, Sage.

Proudly served beginning at age 17 in the Navy aboard USS Ranger and USS Enterprise in Fighter Squadron 96 as Plane Captain during the Vietnam War.

Also served as a Tech SGT with Air National Guard 141st Refueling at Fairchild AFB.

Employed by the U.S.

Postal Service as a carrier, vehicle maintenance supervisor, accident investigator and accountable paper supervisor.

Also known as “Friendly Fred” or “Derf” by his closest friends who enjoyed with him through the years, snow skiing, motorcycling, CB rabbit hunts, teaching kids to water ski, snowmobiling, wood cutting, standing guard for huckelberry pickers, 4 wheeler trail riding, boating and all TV sports and car auctions.

Please join us in a lakeside celebration of Fred’s life on Father’s Day at Priest Lake.
