Obituary: Stone, Ruth Emelia (Beardslee)
Age 86
She was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 17, 1928 to Charles and Ruth (Riehm) Johnson.
Ruth started her education in Chicago until her eleventh grade year, where she dropped out to take care of her ill stricken mother and her younger sister.
On March 26, 1953 she was wed to Darol Eugene Beardslee in Chicago, IL.
The young couple the very next year moved out West to the small town of Curlew, WA to start their family.
Ruth and Darol had three children, J.D.
Beardslee, Patricia Esvelt and Jerel Beardslee.
After the separation from her first husband Darol, Ruth met Leo Stone and the two were married on June 26, 1975.
The couple was happily married until his passing on November 27, 1993.
Ruth was a very active person and was known for her long walks around Kettle Falls, WA.
She enjoyed the walks, simply because she liked the outdoors and got to stop to visit friends and family along the way.
Ruth had a great love for her family, especially her children.
She also loved rose gardening, fishing, and spending time at the local casino and her all time favorite was playing scratchies (scratch tickets).
Ruth had a knack for winning and she did with a great big smile on her face.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her late husbands, Darol Beardslee and Leo Stone.
Ruth is survived by her children, J.D.
Beardslee and his wife, Deborah of Kettle Falls, Patty Esvelt and her husband, Chris of Rice, Jerel Beardslee and his wife, Marni of Kettle Falls; her sister, Gertrude I. Wanski of New Mexico; and her brother, Harold Johnson of Chicago; along with her six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Services for Ruth are being planned later this spring.
