GRIFFIN, Iona Esteline Iona Esteline (Abramson) Griffin, age 93, died January 17, 2015.

She was born April 11, 1921 in Shattuck, Oklahoma to parents Ira E. and Mary Edna (Sample) Abramson.

The Sample and Abramson families were founding families in Ellis County, Shattuck area.

In 1938 Iona moved to Colville, Washington.

She married James W. Griffin from Colville.

In 1966 the family moved to Seattle.

She was employed with The Boeing Company for over 20 years.

Her area of responsibility was caring for cable bundles, electrical wiring and other assembly departments.

Iona was positioned with all three primary assembly plants, Everett, Renton and also at Boeing Field.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, two brothers an aunt and two uncles.

Survivors include two children, Carol L. Smith, of Austin, Texas and James M. Griffin, of Gleneden Beach, Oregon; grandchildren, Zachary X. Haberlach and Ira R. Haberlach, of Kent, WA and great-grandchildren, Austin and Alexander Haberlach, of California.

Private Graveside Services at Greenwood Memorial Terrace, Spokane, WA.

Arrangements are in the care of Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home, Spokane.
