Beverly was born on February 9, 1925 in Oakesdale, Washington to D.C. and Kezia (Murphy) Reed.
She grew up on the family farm near Oakesdale and attended the local schools, graduating from Oakesdale High School.
Beverly knew a young man named William O. Kilpatrick all through school; after graduation they started going steady.
They married on February 14, 1945 and made their home near Oakesdale, always maintaining a view of Steptoe Butte from the homes that they lived in.
Beverly was a loving mother, an excellent homemaker and a supportive farm wife.
She would prepare meals for the harvest crew that included a fresh pie every day for dessert and was not afraid to help move farm equipment from field to field, often serving as flagger.
She was an avid seamstress, often hand-crafting all the clothes for her children.
She enjoyed knitting and continued to knit up until she passed away.
She was a 50-plus year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and served for many years as Mother Advisor for the International Order of Rainbow for Girls.
She was also a lifetime member of the Oakesdale Presbyterian Church.
Beverly is survived by her daughter Debbie (Larry) Ham of Spokane; six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bill in 2005 and son Ron in April 2014.
Memorial contributions in Beverly’s honor are suggested to any charity related to finding a cure for cancer.
Bruning Funeral Home of Colfax has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
