Age 94

MORBECK, Walter J.

(Age 94) Walter passed away July 1, 2015 in his home in Spokane, WA.

He was born on November 27, 1920 and joined the United States Air Force during WWII.

While in the military he met and married Bergit in 1947, and together they had a daughter, Patricia.

During his time in the service the family lived all over the world except for Australia and Russia.

Walter retired from the U. S. Air Force and Old National Bank.

He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish and the Men’s Club, TROA, BOF and the St. Vincent de Paul organizations.

He loved spending time with his family.

He enjoyed the many summers that they spent at the cabin on Lake Pend Oreille.

There were countless family trips to places like Yellowstone National Park, Knox Berry Farm, and Sea World, just to name a few.

You could always catch Walter tinkering around in his garage.

Walter is survived by his brothers, John Morbeck and Sr. Rev.

George H. Morbeck; his sisters, Rose Mary Morbeck, Sr. Mary Angela Morbeck, Edna Mae Schultheis and Angela Morbeck; grandchildren, Jessica Morbeck and Patrick Sovereign; great-grandchildren, Chaylean Hill, Timothy Sovereign and Sidney Sovereign and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Vigil will be held Monday, July 6, 2015 at 7:00pm at St. Francis of Assisi, 4420 N. Jefferson St., Spokane, WA, 99205.

The Funeral Mass will take place at the church the following day at 11:00am.

There will be a reception held in the Parish Hall following the service.

Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery at 2:30 pm.
