Obituary: Maclean, Berton M. “Bert”
Age 98
Bert was born August 9, 1916 in Guysborough, Nova Scotia and grew up in Tonasket, WA.
Bert was a graduate from University of Washington with BS in Fisheries and continued his education at University of Michigan with Masters degree in Conservation.
Bert was a retired Colonel from the Army Corp of Engineers working with the US Fish and Wildlife.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite, and a Shriner with El Katif in the Moonshriner club.
He was Commander and Chief of the American Legion and 40/8 Society.
For several years, he was Boys State Chairman for the Post of the American Legion and District office of the American Legion.
Bert is survived by his wife, Bernadine and he married his love in 1964.
Also by a son, William J. MacLean of Seaside, OR and Beverly Parker of Kenton, TN.
There are nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, July 13 at 3:00 p.m. at Washington State Veterans Cemetery, 21702 W. Espanola Rd., Medical Lake, WA 99022.
It is the wishes of the family that Memorial Contributions be given to the Shriner’s Hospital, 911 W. 5th Ave., Spokane, WA 99204.
