Obituary: Wendt, Wayne Walter

Age 80

WENDT, Wayne Walter August 10, 1934- June 29, 2015 “WWW” was born in Mandan, ND., to Walter and Helen Wendt where he was the new baby to three sisters: Ardys, Audry and Beverly, and one brother, Lyle.

The family moved to Yakima, WA., where he attended all 12 years of school and met his wife, Doris “Tootie” Larson.

In 1956 he joined the WA State Dept.

of Game and the same year they began a family of three children, Sheryl (Kelly), Kari (Guy) and Jeff.

Wayne stayed in Yakima as a Wildlife Agent until 1968 when he was transferred to Colville.

In 1976 he became Exec.

Asst.

to the Director of Game and moved to Olympia.

He retired in 1981 and moved back to Colville.

He loved fishing, duck hunting and being outdoors.

He had so many friends.

His friendships became so important when he lost his wife Tootie after 52 years.

Along with his wonderful friends, his three children, nine grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren, his sisters, numerous nieces, nephews and other family members, made him feel truly blessed, as family and friendship were most important his life.

He spent the past eight years with companion Pat Hanks, who brought more family members to enjoy.

He so enjoyed their trips to Yuma.

WWW endured so much physical pain for so many years, never complaining, always still enjoying life with his teasing, joking and making others laugh.

His family would like you to join us in a celebration of this wonderful man’s life on July 9th, at 1:00pm, in at the Ag Trade Room at the Colville Fairgrounds, and ask that you bring your best stories and memories to share.
