Obituary: Albo, Michael Joseph

Age 62

ALBO, Michael Joseph July 2, 1952 - July 4, 2015 Michael was born in Spokane, attended Gonzaga Prep High School where he played on the varsity football team and sang in their Glee Club.

In 1974 Michael received an Electrical Engineering degree from Gonzaga University and subsequently worked as an electrical engineer in the civil service for the Navy in Keyport, Washington.

After returning to Spokane, Michael earned a Master’s degree in Computer Sciences at EWU.

For the next 24 years he worked for ISC and all of its successor companies at Liberty Lake.

Throughout his life he served in parish ministries and various charities.

He was a good and faithful servant, especially to the poor and vulnerable.

In 1983 he sang his wedding vows to his surviving wife, Maggie.

He is survived by his children, Travis and Shannon; grandchildren, Anthony and Isabella; his sisters, Mary Ann Foiles and Theresa Zacher.

In 2011 life became more difficult due to a stroke and subsequent partial paralysis.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Maria Centers, who provided exceptional and loving care for Michael this past year.

A visitation will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 5:30 pm on Thursday, July 9th, with a Vigil to follow at 6 pm.

A Funeral Mass will be at St. Mary’s on Friday, July 10th at 10 am.

His graveside service will be at Holy Cross on the same day at 3pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice of Spokane.
