Obituary: Coffey, Melva June

Age 82

COFFEY, Melva June (Age 82) Melva was born in Tacoma, WA on June 30, 1933 and passed away peacefully on July 8, 2015 after an extended illness.

Melva received her high school diploma while simultaneously receiving her certification as a medical transcriptionist on 1971.

She was always well regarded and respected any where she worked.

Melva went to work for the DEA in San Diego, CA and remained there till her husband retired and they moved to Spokane in 1993.

She also worked as a volunteer for the Sheriff’s Department and was active in her church, and served many years on the Altar Guild.

Melva is survived by four children; Margaret Porter (John), Rodney Coffey (Elena), Kathy Wisniewski (Paul), Rev.

Jim Coffey (Yasuyo); eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and her beloved furry children, Molly and Priscilla.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Bryce Sr. in 2002 and son, Charles in 1972.

There will be a viewing memorial on Monday, July 13th.

at 1:00PM at RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME, 4305 N. Division, Spokane, WA followed by a Going Home Service beginning at 3:00PM at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 7307 N. Nevada in Spokane.
