Obituary: Lippman, Judith Agnes

LIPPMAN, Judith Agnes (Age 67) Was born November 8, 1947 in Newport, WA.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

John 3:16.

She was loved by her three children.

She loved Jesus and was a proud Native American of the Spokane and Kalispel Tribes.

She was the granddaughter of the last Kalispel Chief, Baptiste Bigsmoke and daughter of Mary and Clarence Campbell.

She was survived by her three children: Jeff Ferguson, Rachel Ferguson, and Robert Lippman; and four grandchildren, Jeremy Ferguson, Abigail Chase, Samuel Ferguson and Elizabeth Chase.

She was raised with her 10 siblings on the Kalispel Reserveation and attended Cusick Elementary.

She graduated from Marycliff High School in 1966.

Later she graduated from cosmetology school in Los Angeles, CA.

She also graduated from EWU with a BA in Journalism and a Masters in Social Work.

She married Michael Owen Ferguson of the Colville Tribe and Robert B. Lippman of San Diego, CA.

She used her education to serve fellow Native Americans in the capacity of a social worker for Washington State Indian Child Welfare Act as a chemical dependency counselor for the Yakima Tribe in Toppenish through I.H.S.

and for the Native community in Spokane through Pathfinders.

We love you mom, and are proud of the life you lived.

We miss you and look forward to seeing you in heaven.
