Obituary: King, June Regenia

KING, June Regenia (Age 85) June was born February 22, 1930 in North Bend, Oregon to Ernst and Julia Clark.

She was the third of six children.

She moved to Portland, OR, met Thomas King and they were married May 28, 1955.

They moved to Millwood in 1968 when the Union Pacific railroad transferred Tom.

June was never one to sit around and over the years worked several jobs.

She loved her daycare children and they were part of her family.

She watched them grow up and have families of their own.

It was not uncommon for a former daycare kid to come by and say “hi”.

No matter where June went, she knew someone and would always stop and chat.

Tom used to say that she would talk to everybody.

In 1995, June and Tom helped to open SCOPE West Valley.

June served nine years as president, garnering awards for volunteer of the year and lifetime achievement.

She also was a member of CERT.

She was a dedicated volunteer who was passionate about taking care of her community.

June was a member of St. Paschals parish.

June was preceded in death by her husband Thomas and son Michael.

She is survived by her daughter Michelle Parker (Lanny) of Stanwood, WA; son Mark King of Spokane; granddaughter Laura Pocol (Cornel) of Portland, OR; great-grandchildren Nate and Vanessa Pocol; granddaughter Katie Barringer; and sister Donna White of North Bend, OR.
