She grew up on a farm in Rhame, North Dakota with four brothers, one being her twin, as well as a sister.

She met her husband Chuck, her senior year of high school and they were married on August 5th, 1950; she was joyfully embraced by the large extended Hawkinson family.

Doloras was a devout sports fan.

She played basketball in high school as well as an adult.

She also played on a softball team with daughter LaRee, and bowled on a league for many years.

She loved watching Seattle Mariner baseball and Gonzaga University men’s and women’s basketball.

At the age of 80 she became a champion Wii bowler.

She also enjoyed country line dancing, shuffleboard, traveling, and especially camping.

Doloras had a spirited sense of humor creating a family tradition of laughter and practical jokes.

With her outgoing personality she made friends easily and kept them for life.
