Indicted The son and ex-daughter-in-law of late black golf pioneer Charlie Sifford were indicted Tuesday in Cleveland on charges they stole more than $1 million from him. Sifford in 1961 became the first black golfer to earn full-time playing privileges on the PGA Tour, paving the way for minorities to compete at the sport’s highest level. Craig and Sandra Sifford stole the money from him over a four-year period starting in 2010 and spent it on travel, dining, clothes, jewelry and landscaping.

Approved The Wisconsin state Assembly voted to spend $250 million in public funds on a new arena for the Milwaukee Bucks, a deal that both Republicans and Democrats lauded as good for the state and city. No one spoke against the measure, which passed on a bipartisan 52-34 vote.

Announced The president of the Green Bay Packers says the team won’t sell the naming rights to Lambeau Field under his watch. Mark Murphy says it doesn’t make sense to put a corporate tag to the name of the historic stadium.

• FIFA vice president Michel Platini will run for FIFA president and plans to announce his intentions this week.

• Russian President Vladimir Putin has said embattled FIFA president Sepp Blatter deserves a Nobel Prize for his work in world sport.

• More than 2,000 Jewish athletes are gathering in Berlin for the European Maccabi Games, being held for the first time in Germany, and in the stadium built by the Nazis for the 1936 Olympics. In a nod to the past, organizers of the 14th games are holding a Holocaust memorial service ahead of the opening ceremony and many youth athletes were to visit the former Sachsenhausen concentration camp just outside the city.

• Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has undergone left hip replacement surgery. He plans to be with the team as usual when training camp starts in California this week. Team spokesman Rich Dalrymple says Jones, 72, had the procedure last Tuesday and “has been mobile and walking comfortably for the past few days.” Dalrymple said Jones also was planning to have his right hip replaced soon.

Traded The Pittsburgh Penguins sent third-line center Brandon Sutter to the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for forward Nick Bonino and defenseman Adam Clendening. The teams also swapped draft picks. Pittsburgh received a second-round pick in the 2016 draft while the Canucks pick up a third-round pick in next year’s draft from the Penguins.
