Obituary: Arnold, Nancy-Lou Elizabeth (Jones)
Age 87
Nancy was born to Dr. William E. and Clara A. Jones on July 17, 1927 in Little Rock, Arkansas.
As a preschooler, the family moved to Fairfield, Washington and eventually to Spokane where her father, Dr. Jones practiced medicine.
Nancy graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in 1945 and attended college until she married Darrell Eugene Arnold in 1948 and started their family while he finished his studies at WSU.
They raised four children together.
Nancy enjoyed singing, dancing, and was an artist and a poet.
She was a Cub Scout Den Mother, Campfire Girl leader and a Job’s Daughters Bethel 36 Guardian.
She worked for several years at Montgomery Wards in Catalog Sales.
Nancy was an active member of Lidgerwood Presbyterian Church, where she made many lifelong friends.
She served as Church Secretary for many years, a Deacon and was a member of the choir and the performing group “Just for Fun”.
Nancy was a member of the YWCA, the League of Women Voters and the Naval Officers Auxiliary.
After Darrell’s death in 1978, Nancy traveled to many places in the world; China, England, Canada, Alaska, Ireland, and Mexico.
Nancy’s lifelong friend, and life partner for over 22 years, James Duane Rudolph, passed away in 2012.
Nancy is survived by her children: William W. Arnold (Abigail Conrad), Terry L. Morehead (Wayne), Nancy K. Blindauer (Vincent), and Laura L. Hitchcock (Wayne), all of Spokane; her grandchildren: Tristan Arnold of San Francisco, Chloe Arnold of Petaluma California, Rebecca Morehead and Christina Blindauer of Spokane, Ann-Jeanette Giovannetti of Everett, WA; four great-grandchildren; and her sister Marilyn C. Denton of Colbert, WA.
She is preceded in death by her brother William E. Jones, Jr. of San Diego, CA, and great-granddaughter Isabella Marie Blindauer.
The family would like to thank Royal Park Health and Rehabilitation for the gracious care of Nancy in her last months of life.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 4, 2015 from 3pm to 6pm at Hazen & Jaeger Funeral Home, 1306 N. Monroe.
Memorial Service will be Friday, June 5, 2015 at 1pm at Lidgerwood Presbyterian Church, 4449 N Nevada.
A private interment will be at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
