Missing 71-year-old man with dementia located

Update: Smith was located by police at Sprague Avenue and Pines Road in Spokane Valley after receiving a tip from a citizen. Smith is unharmed.

Original story: Spokane deputies are searching for a 71-year-old man with dementia who has gone missing. Dwight C. Smith was last seen Wednesday morning at the Numerica Bank in the 400 block of East Farwell Road. Smith stands 5 feet, 8 inches and has blue eyes and shoulder-length brown hair. The picture provided is older, and his appearance has changed slightly. He uses a red walker with a black seat and was last seen wearing a black, long-sleeved dress shirt and camouflage pants. Anyone with information about Smith’s whereabouts is asked to call Crime Check at 509-456-2233.
