Hot weather kicks off work week
If you thought today was hot, just wait. Monday will be a relative scorcher for a late spring day in the Inland Northwest, with a projected high in the mid-90s for Spokane and neighboring areas.
A high pressure system building in the region is expected to bring record-breaking heat Monday, with some lower elevations nearing 100 degrees, including Yakima and Wenatchee. Moses Lake is expected to top 100 Monday.
Relative humidity will drop into the teens and low 20s with fair to poor overnight cooling, according to the National Weather Service.
Highs are forecast to remain in the low 90s for much of the rest of this week, dropping into the high 80s Friday and falling into the low 80s next weekend.
