Obituary: Cook, Burton E. “Burt”
Age 84
He was born in Spokane on January 30, 1931 to David A. and Redah (Fosgate) Cook.
He grad- uated from Newport High School in 1950.
He then joined the Navy Reserves and married the love of his life Myrtle (Mert) Evans.
Burt was a long time resident of Chattaroy and an active member in the community.
He enjoyed coaching little league and being the President of the P.T.A.
He enjoyed the lake, camping, snowmobiling, fishing and golf.
Burt worked and retired from Kaiser Aluminum Mead, he was very active with the District 4 Fire Department for over 34 years.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mert; daughter, Sherre Cook; son, Rick Cook; and five grandchildren who called him PaPa and whom he adored, Keith Cook (Rachel Cook), Somer Acton (Joe Lenz), David Downing (Charity Downing), Alisha Cook, Eric Downing and six great-grandchildren, Ashley Cook-Cox, Jocelyn Cook-Cox, Morgan Acton, Brody Cook, Skyler Downing and Owen Downing.
As per Burt’s wishes there will not be a memorial service.
He will be inurned at Fairmont Memorial Park at a later date.
