Obituary: Poirier, Robert E.

Age 75

POIRIER, Robert E. (Age 75) Robert E. Poirier, a resident of Plummer, ID since 1974, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at Hospice House of North Idaho, in Coeur d’Alene, ID from pulmonary disease.

He was born Robert Edmond Poirier on December 12, 1939 at Tupper Lake, New York to Edmond and Hazel (Labarge) Poirier.

He grew up in Tupper Lake and attended schools there.

Following his education, Bob worked as an auto mechanic at Tupper Lake for several years.

While in Tupper Lake, Bob had been married and fathered two children.

He was later divorced.

In 1974, he moved to Plummer, ID.

While in Plummer, Bob worked as a warehouseman for grain elevators in Tekoa, Garfield, Tensed, Worley, and Harrison.

He retired in 2001.

In Plummer, he lived with his longtime companion, Henrietta Kraack who survives at the couple’s home.

His hobbies included camping, 4-wheeling, and building model cars.

Bob and Henrietta enjoyed traveling, visiting Canada, Arizona, Yellowstone National Park, and traveling on the Washington and Oregon coast.

Survivors include his companion of 34 years Henrietta Kraack of Plummer; a son, Dana Poirier of West Chazy, N.Y; daughter, Laurie Clafin of Morrisonville, N.Y; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Raymond Poirier and a sister Ruth Lagoy.

A Memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Rose Creek Longhouse in Worley, ID.

His urn will be placed at St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Tupper Lake, N.Y. Kramer Funeral Home of Tekoa, WA is handling the local arrangements.
