People: Foo Fighters cancel shows after Grohl injury
Foo Fighters have decided to cancel two shows in Europe after the band’s frontman Dave Grohl fell off the stage during a concert in Sweden and broke a leg, the band said Saturday.
Grohl fell off the stage during the concert in Goteborg, Sweden, on Friday. A hospital visit after the show confirmed he had sustained at least one fracture in the fall, although the full extent of the injuries are still being determined, the band said.
As a result, the band has been forced to cancel its June 14 show at the Pinkpop Festival in the Netherlands as well as its June 16 concert in St. Gallen, Switzerland.
Videos posted on social media Friday showed Grohl walking across the stage in Goteborg when he appeared to trip and plunge over the edge. “I think I just broke my leg. I think I really broke my leg,” he told the crowd, lying on his back in front of the stage.
The rest of the band resumed playing as Grohl was taken away for medical attention. But he was later carried back on stage on a stretcher with his right foot bandaged and continued the concert sitting down or supporting himself on crutches.
Stamos cited for DUI
Actor John Stamos was home Saturday after being arrested and cited with driving under the influence in Beverly Hills, California. Beverly Hills police said they received calls around 7:45 p.m. Friday reporting a possible drunken driver. Officers later stopped Stamos, who was the only person in the vehicle.
Stamos, 51, was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center because of a possible medical condition, police said. At the hospital it was determined by police that Stamos had been driving under influence, and he was arrested. Police cited him for DUI and released him to the care of the hospital.
Stamos starred in “Full House,” which aired on ABC from 1987 to 1995. He will produce and appear in a 13-episode reboot of the sitcom for Netflix scheduled to debut next year.
