Obituary: Penna, Dennis Emory

PENNA, Dennis Emory June 9, 1942 - June 10, 2015 Dear to his family and many friends, lived his life and worked in service to others through his profession as a dentist, in service to his country in Vietnam, social organizations in his devotion to Trinity School, Gonzaga, St. Anthony Parish, Knights of Columbus and Morning Star Boys Ranch.

His leadership had significant impact on the course of programs and lives of the students and residents.

Dennis graduated from Gonzaga Prep in 1960, graduated Gonzaga University 1964, and Creighton University 1968.

His energetic direction, enduring support and caring spirit will be missed.

He was greatly valued and will be long remembered for his sound judgement, kind heart and effective leadership.

He is survived by Sandra Helen Macdonald, his two daughters Heidi and Tiffany and son-in-law Keith.

Dennis will be remembered at a Celebratory Mass which will be held at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Saturday June 20, 2015 at 1:30 pm, in celebration of a life well lived and a man well cherished.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Denny’s honor to Trinity School, Gonzaga University or Morning Star Boys Ranch would be accepted and appreciated.

Dennis enjoyed the great outdoors, hiking with his beloved dogs, sailing his boat on Lake Pend Oreille, and playing polo with the Spokane Polo Club.

He approached and participated in all facets of his life with zest and intensity.

Living his life to the fullest with a twinkle in his eye, and a little mischief, which was anxiously anticipated and loved by all.
