Obituary: Bormes, Emil J.
May 5, 1918 - May 4, 2015 Emil passed away peacefully in Kent WA to join his Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ.
He had lived with family over the last four years and was able to spend memorable time with his daughter’s and families.
He previously resided in Spokane for 70 years.
He was born in Freeport MN the son of Henry Bormes and Theresa Gresser Bormes.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Viola Bormes; daughter, Kathleen Bormes; and his four brothers and four sisters.
He is survived by daughters, Patricia Bell of Bellevue WA; Carole (Robert) Lewis of Kent WA; Jan Curtis of Newton MA; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; his sister, Betty Richards of Harris MN, and many nieces and nephews.
His numerous hobbies included, golfing, bowling, ballroom dancing, traveling, music appreciation, and singing in the St. Mary’s Parish Choir.
Most of all, he treasured time spent with family and friends.
He will be fondly remembered for his sense of humor, spirit of adventure, and a deep sensitivity he so often tried to hide.
He took pride that he was able to serve his country as a WWII veteran.
He will be in our hearts forever and will be missed and never forgotten by those who knew and loved him.
A private graveside memorial service will be held at a later date.
