Obituary: Mitchell, Catherine Veronica (Diederichs)
Age 82
Cathy was born to Kate and George Diederichs on February 3, 1933.
Her early education was at Sacred Heart Academy in Missoula, MT.
She later graduated from Holy Names College in Spokane in 1956.
She then married Dan Mitchell.
Cathy is survived by her husband and four children, Louise (Larry) Andrews, Lorraine (Earl) Howerton, Paula Mitchell and Daniel C. Mitchell; and her grandchildren.
Cathy suffered from several problems including heart, kidney and dementia.
She faced each challenge with courage and strength but was finally overwhelmed.
The family thanks the staff at Holy Family Hospital and Manor Care Nursing Home.
Their compassion, kindness and excellent care made her last days comfortable.
A Vigil (Rosary) service is scheduled for Thursday evening, June 25 at 7pm at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 2320 N. Cedar, Spokane, WA.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, June 26 at 10am, also at St. Anthony Catholic Church.

For the fortunate who knew Cathy, they know this last statement to be true: “The world has just lost a classy, classy lady.”
