Obituary: Sims, Gertrude Theresa
Age 87
Gertrude was born on January 22, 1928 in Berthold, North Dakota to Eva Marie and William Depute.
She grew up in Berthold with her 11 siblings.
Gertrude was the runt of the family and always brought humor into their lives.
Gertrude began work at Great Northern Pacific railroad in 1954 where she met and fell in love with Charles Sims.
They married on January 5, 1955 and moved to Spokane, Washington and raised their ten children.
Gertrude worked with children in the Spokane Public School District and attended St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Gertrude was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and teacher.
Gertrude will be remembered for her love of children, devotion to God, and for her caring heart.
Gertrude always had a kind word to say and was full of generosity.
Gertrude is predeceased by her husband Charles Sims September 13, 2003.
She is survived by her children: Janie Sims, Steve Sims, Paul Sims, Mary Sims, Kelly Sims, Ann Boor, Richard Sims, Alice Jamison, Joy Sims, and Angela Stazel.
Gertrude is also survived by 14 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

A Vigil Service will be held at Hennessey Funeral Home Sunday, June 28, 2015 at 4:00 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Monday, June 29, at 10:00 am, followed by Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery at 12:00 pm with a luncheon to follow Interment at The Prospectors Restaurant in Windermere.
