Obituary: Benthin, Nancy Jean (Farber)
Age 72
She was born, October 18th, 1942, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Sam W. and Nadine Farber.
After a brief residency in Kansas City, she lived in Greeley, Colorado, and finally settled in Spokane in 1950.
On September 18, 1965, after a brief residency, Jim and Nancy were married in Pittsburgh, PA, and moved back to Spokane in July, 1966.
Nancy was preceded in death by her daughter Kimberly Jeanne Benthin and is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, Jim; daughter Amy Lee (Benthin) Warren and husband Michael; great-grandsons Victor and Zane; and granddaughter Jessica; Brother, James B. Farber and wife JoAnne; Sister, Betty J.
(Farber) Knudson; nieces and nephews.
Nancy’s infectious personality, humor, and quick wit endeared her to the people she met and befriended.
Her generous gifts to others were always given with love and understanding.
Nancy was honest in life and despised dishonesty from any source.
The family raised her cooking talents to chef status as she prepared gourmet dishes and pastries for us.
She loved animals and fed every creature that wandered into our yard.
Nancy was a very talented potter, pianist, artist, and creator of life’s beautiful keepsakes.
She was particularly attracted to cats, of which she loved and housed many over the years.
Nancy was a loving wife and mother who kept us all in line and made us better people.
She tackled life with a purpose and succeeded in all but the last battle.
Nancy was religious in a private way and loved God and his wonderful world.
Nancy’s legacy in life is to be kind, charitable, and loving to God’s creatures; to tolerate the inequities of life and strive to better them; to respect the values given us in the Bible and to live them as guides in life.

; and the nurses and staff at Deaconess Hospital for their care and attention to every segment of Nancy’s wellbeing.

A memorial service celebrating Nancy’s life will be held on Saturday, March 7th, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the CHAPEL OF FLOWERS, RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME, 4305 N. Division, Spokane, WA, with Pastor Doug Waggoner officiating.
