Federal Way knocks off Davis 65-46 for Class 4A title

TACOMA – Jalen McDaniels scored 16 points to lead Federal Way past Davis 65-46 for the Class 4A boys basketball championship on Saturday night.

McDaniels, a 6-foot-9 junior, had 10 points in the second half as Federal Way (27-2) easily pulled away from the Yakima school for its first state title since 2009. Christian Jones added 12 points and 13 rebounds for the Eagles.

Federal Way opened the second half with an 11-2 run to build a 20-point lead midway through the third quarter.

Nick Navarro scored 11 and Max Jones 10 to lead Davis (21-5). The Pirates finished the game shooting 28.8 percent.
