Obituary: Carpenter, Leon

Age 93

CARPENTER, Leon Edward June 24, 1921 - March 5, 2015 Succumbed to heart failure, after a long bout with pneumonia.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Rae Marie; and by his five children, Ann, Joseph, James, Susan, and William.

He was born in Shell Lake WI, the oldest of six children, to LaVerne and Theresa Carpenter.

Raised in St. Peter, MN.

Lived through the great depression and never forgot the value of a dollar.

Later moved to St. Paul, MN, to raise a family.

He was a Veteran of WWII.

Retiree from N.W.

Bell.

Expert marksman, fisherman, skilled in carpentry, and actively involved in politics.

He was a history and chemistry buff, and pretty much a walking encyclopedia.

The Rosary at Mt.

St Michael will be Tuesday, March 10, at 7:30p.m.

A Requiem Mass will be offered on Wednesday, March 11, at 10:30 a.m. with interment following at Holy Rosary Cemetery.
