Here are the answers to this week’s quiz:
1. D. The men, if convicted, will have to pay a $500 fine, plus the two men who drove their own cars to the area must pay normal towing fees in order to get their cars back. Money collected from the fees will be donated to programs that assist sex trafficking victims.
2. B. U.S. District Judge Paul Magnuson granted preliminary approval of the settlement with Target Corp. after a hearing in St. Paul, Minnesota. The move will allow people to begin filing claims ahead of another hearing for final approval, which was scheduled for Nov. 10.
People affected by the breach can file for up to $10,000 with proof of their losses, including unauthorized charges, higher fees or interest rates, and lost time dealing with the problem.
3. B. The new definition was endorsed last year by the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) General Assembly, or top legislative body, but required approval from a majority of the denomination’s 171 regional districts, or presbyteries.
4. A. Auntie’s Bookstore has been at Main and Washington since 1993.
5. E. A section of Northwest Boulevard will be closed for an entire year for the installation of a 900,000-gallon storage tank for stormwater and sewage on a bluff overlooking the city’s Riverside State Park Reclamation Facility. The tank is part of the city’s effort to keep pollution out of the Spokane River. A similar-size tank was built near the intersection of 21st Avenue and Ray Street on the South Hill last year.
