Obituary: Labelle, Gordon E.

Age 86

LaBELLE, Gordon E. Gordon went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 20, 2015.

Gordon E. LaBelle was born in Glen-dive, Montana, to Raymond and Lucille LaBelle on January 5, 1929.

He graduated from Cheney High School, Cheney, WA.

Gordon married Phyllis Horrocks in 1948.

They were married 35 years, until her death in July of 1983.

They lived in the Spangle, WA area, the Spokane Valley, and Post Falls, ID.

Gordon served as a United States Marine during the Korean War.

Gordon worked as a truck driver for Consolidated Freightways and retired after 33 years of service.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time at Black Lake.

He remarried in 1984 to Helen Cabbage.

They were married 27 years and resided in Post Falls, Idaho until she passed in March 2011.

Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Lucille LaBelle; and his brother Donald LaBelle.

Gordon is survived by one sister, EmmaJean Angel.

He is also survived by his six children: John LaBelle (Judy) Lindale, TX, Kathleen Suenkel (Michael) Spokane, WA, Michael LaBelle (fiancee, Robin) Boise, ID, Christina Knauss (Donald) Greenacres, WA, Daniel LaBelle (Kim) Post Falls, ID and Peggy Conklin (Joshua) Post Falls, ID.

Gordon is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be at 10:30am on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at St. George’s Catholic Church, 2010 N. Lucas St., in Post Falls, ID.

Following the Memorial, a Graveside Committal with Military Honors will take place at 12:30pm at St. Joseph Cemetery, 17825 E. Trent Ave., in Spokane Valley, WA.

The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice House at Hummingbird Field of North Idaho.

The care and compassion shown for Gordon and his family was greatly appreciated.
