Obituary: Pfister, Mary Janette (Kuster)
She moved along with her family to Alaska where she graduated from Chugiak High School in 1974 while making lifelong friends who she was still in contact with.
Jan married William Pfister (Pee Wee) on October 16, 1975 and moved with him to Illinois for a short time.
She returned to Alaska where she worked for the Anchorage Borough and on the North Slope.
Her next move was to Washington State where she worked for the gas company in Renton and in Auburn, WA, then on to Reno, Nevada where she worked for a casino in Boomtown.
She then moved to Spokane, WA and joined Travelers Insurance where she was currently employed.
Jan was a strong, independent woman who had survived breast cancer and the 80s.
She highly valued her family and friends and she loved listening to smooth jazz and classic rock.
Her life was filled with projects, clubs, walks for various charities, time spent with her friends and coffee with her sisters on Saturday mornings.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Kathy Jimmie.
She is survived by her sisters Jo Wooten (Ed), Gretta Kuster, Patsy Sossaman (Larry), Kristen Destree and brother-in-law, Ron Jimmie.
She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and more friends than can be listed here.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 29th, at 1pm, at Hennessey Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 N. Pines Rd., Spokane Valley.
A reception will immediately follow at the funeral home.
