Washington State sophomore Alissa Brooks-Johnson won the heptathlon at the Pac-12 Multi-Event Championships Sunday at UCLA.

She scored 5,803 points, besting second-place Tatum Souza of UCLA, who had 5,636. Brooks-Johnson’s total is the fourth-best in school history and she became the sixth WSU woman to win the conference title.

She turned in a personal best in all seven events and eclipsed her previous best point total by 450. In Sunday’s final three events, she recorded a long jump of 18 feet, 11¼ inches, threw the javelin 146-10 and finished the day with a time of 2 minutes, 13.94 seconds in the 800.

WSU’s Dino Dodig scored 7,416 points for fifth in the decathlon.

Baseball

Eli Morgan gave up just six hits and three unearned runs and picked up his first victory in his second collegiate start as Gonzaga handed Pacific (12-35, 9-15 WCC) a 6-3 loss in Spokane.

Morgan pitched 7 2/3 innings, his longest appearance, and struck out five while walking one.

Joey Harris and Cory Lebrun had two hits each for GU (23-25, 12-12) while Mitchell Gonsolus hit a two-run homer.

• Mitchell Tolman drove in three runs as Oregon (29-22, 11-13 Pac-12) took the rubber game of a three-game set against Washington State (26-23, 9-15) with a 7-2 win in Pullman.

• Austin Rei hit a two-run home run and Alex Schmidt’s sacrifice fly provided what proved to be the game-winner as Washington (26-22, 11-16 Pac-12) took a 3-2 win over host Arizona (28-20, 12-15) in Tucson.
