From Wire Reports

U2 guitarist The Edge inisists he’s fine after falling off the stage at a concert in Vancouver, British Columbia.

The Irish rocker joked about his tumble on the band’s Instagram account, where he posted a photo of his scraped arm with the message: “Didn’t see the edge, I’m ok!!”

The accident happened near the end of the first show of the band’s new world tour, which kicked off Thursday night.

An online video apparently shot by an audience member shows the guitarist sauntering toward the lip of an illuminated walkway, and falling straight down.

The Edge can be seen springing back up immediately with the help of concert staff, and raising his arm to a cheering crowd.

Fleming extends Lyric Opera gig

Famed soprano Renee Fleming will spend another two years working with the Lyric Opera of Chicago.

The opera said Fleming will continue to serve as its creative consultant while she keeps up her performance schedule. Fleming’s original five-year contract with the opera started in 2010. Her work currently includes curating the 2015 premiere of the new opera “Bel Canto.”

Meanwhile, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s office said Fleming will perform at his second inauguration next week.

The mayor’s office said Fleming will be joined at the ceremony Monday by lyricist and poet Harold Green of the city’s Englewood neighborhood.

President Barack Obama recently awarded Fleming the National Medal of Arts.
