Obituary: Hidy, Vernon F.

Age 87

HIDY, Vernon F. (Age 87) Vern passed away peacefully on Friday, May 15, 2015 surrounded by his loving close family.

The family wishes to express their deep appreciation for the excellent compassionate care he received at Holy Family Hospital ICU.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to his many doctors and their staff.

Vern was born in Chewelah, WA on February 28, 1928 to Fred and Stella Hidy, the youngest of five children.

Growing up, he attended schools in Chewelah, his ancestral home.

As a lifelong member of Local 690 Teamsters Union he was a professional driver working in the food industry.

Vern received a distinguished award for long term safe driving that exceeded one million miles.

In addition, he received an award for his many years of outstanding service that made his family proud.

After he retired from West Coast Grocery, he and his wife enjoyed a long association with Downtown Lexus, Toyota, Honda and Budget.

He was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints holding many positions of service including Temple worker.

Vern is survived by his wife Margaret; three daughters, one son; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three sons.

He was a loving and caring Patriarch to his family.

Visitation will be at Heritage on Thursday, May 21st 8AM-5PM and his Funeral Service will be at 9:30AM Friday, May 22, 2015 in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Chapel located at 2028 Steinmetz Rd.
