Heritage Funeral Home and Crematory Memorial Day Weekend - Today-Monday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily. Celebrating life and paying tribute to those who have passed on at this Memorial Weekend event, with the theme “Railroads” and J.J. Hill, northwest railroad magnate. Musical entertainment by the Heritage Tribute Band each day at noon and 2 p.m. in the Heritage Chapel; pictures and railroad memorabilia; railroad layout by River City Modelers; veterans display. Fairmount Memorial Association Memorial Day Weekend Event - Today-Monday. 3,500 flags fly over seven cemeteries all weekend. The annual Antique and Classic Car Show will be on display at Riverside Memorial Park’s parking lot. Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley Ave. Free. (509) 326-3800.
Memorial Day Ceremony - Spokane-Cheney Memorial Gardens - The community is invited to attend the Washington Department of Veterans Affairs Memorial Day ceremony. A musical prelude will begin at 10:30 a.m. The ceremony begins at 11 a.m. Service conducted by the Greater Spokane Elks No. 228. Parking is available at the cemetery with overflow available along Ritchey Road. Seating is limited so please arrive early. Guests are welcome to bring a blanket or lawn chairs.
