Obituary: Adolfson, Vera Mae (Morris)

Age 91

ADOLFSON, Vera Mae (Morris) As an angel in training on earth Vera went to join the angels on May 12, 2015.

She was born on February 19th, 1924 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

She moved west with her family and graduated from Marlin High School in 1942.

Vera worked at Cook’s Drugstore.

She was a student at Morse School of Beauty in Spokane.

She became a model for a time and then during WWII she was trained at the community college as an airplane mechanic and went to work at Geiger Field and then joined the Coast Guard.

She soon became a mother and had six children.

She worked for Safeway for 25 years.

After being a widow for many years she met Charles and they dated for 18 years and then married in 1989 and stayed together until last August when he passed.

She was preceded in death by sons Michael Moore and Carmen Compney and granddaughter Amanda Pierone-Mizner.

She is survived by children, Arveta Boone, Pat Moore, Marilu Garcia, Richard Glubrecht, Gary Adolfson, Jim Adolfson, Karen Quimette; 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Vera was known as a gentle loving lady and will be missed by all.

Graveside services will be on Saturday, May 30th at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery, 7200 N. Wall St., Spokane.
