Fire roundup: Citizens help pair trapped in truck
Citizens helped two people trapped inside a truck up on its side before firefighters arrived on the scene last week.
A Silverado pickup on its side was reported next to the road in the 2300 block of South Dishman-Mica Road the morning of May 20.
“There were six to eight people holding (the truck) in place because it wasn’t steady,” said Spokane Valley Fire Department spokesman Melanie Rose. “There were two people trapped inside.”
Firefighters were able to stabilize the vehicle after they arrived. They broke out the truck’s windshield and the two people inside were able to walk out on their own, Rose said.
