Obituary: Patterson, Janice Marie
Age 62
Jan was born September 23, 1952 to Frank and Lorraine Brophy.
She was the youngest of three children.
She married Bill Patterson in 1970 and had four daughters.
She worked for the phone company for 25 years before returning to school to fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming a teacher.
She graduated Summa Cum Lade from Gonzaga and was a substitute teacher for several years before returning to office work, mostly in medical billing and banking.
Jan’s grandchildren were the light of her life.
She will forever be remembered affectionately as “Grandma Jan.” Jan was proceeded in death by her parents, her nephew Ronald and brother Daniel.
She is survived by her sister Pat (John) Traylor; her daughters: Krista Newton, Karin (Bill) Jewell, Kimberly Brown and Kelli (Frank) Isbelle; her grandchildren Lindsey, Jacob, Cody, Jessica, Makinlie, Andrew, Miranda, Zander, Irelynn, Oakley and Enslie; and great-granddaughter Brynlee.
Jan also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Jan touched many lives.
She is dearly loved and will never be forgotten.
A Celebration of her Life will be held Friday June 5th at 2:00 at 2426 N. Discovery Place, Spokane Valley, WA.
At Jan’s request a BBQ will follow at her daughter Kelli’s home immediately following the service.
