Obituary: Stuart, Eleanore Katherine (Dobitz)
She relocated to Spokane at the end of WWII in 1946 to be with the love of her life, Melvin, to whom she was married for 54 years until his passing in 1999.
Eleanore was a loyal member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and participated in the Altar Society there.
She had many friends from the church, some she thought of as extended family.
She was affectionately known as the cookie and candy lady for the many confections she made for other people through the years.
She is loved by her friends and family and will be remembered always.
Eleanore was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin, and her sisters, Helen (Phil) and Pauline (Larry).
She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Linda Wilbur (David), Dennis Stuart (Carrie) and Kathy Tate (Bill); her grandchildren Dameon Wilbur, Oliver Stuart, Jeremy Stuart (Heather), James Tate (Variety), and Michael and Christopher Tate.
She had numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews and one great-great-grandson.
Services include visitation on Monday, June 1, 5-7pm at Hennessey Funeral Home with Rosary to follow at 7pm at Hennessey.
Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, June 2, 11am, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, with a reception to follow at O’Malley Hall.
Interment will be at Greenwood Memorial Terrace, Spokane, on Wednesday, June 3, 11am.
