Obituary: Tuininga, Charlene D.

TUININGA, Charlene D. (Dyer) On April 16, 2015, Charlene D. Tuininga, 53, went home to be with the Lord.

Charlene was born December 4, 1961 to Charles and Evelyn Dyer in Colville, WA.

Growing up in the state of Washington, Charlene graduated from Cheney High School in 1980.

Later taking classes at SFCC where she met her dearest and oldest friend, Coletta Huls “her partner in crime.”

She later worked as a secretary and cashier at Selectors and Valley BestWay.

At Selectors she met the love of her life John Tuininga.

They married in 1988, later moving to Grayland, WA to help out family in the antique business.

Charlene enjoyed sailing the San Juan Inland with her husband John; taking care and being a “mom” to many stray cats that came her way.

She enjoyed word searches and visits from family.

Charlene is survived by husband, John of 26 years, Grayland, WA; sister, Lynn Hemenway (Airway Heights, WA); father and stepmother, Chuck and Sandy Dyer (Wilbur, WA); two nephews, Don (Amber) Hemenway (Milton, WA) and Charles Hemenway (Medical Lake, WA); and great-niece and nephew Mariea and Mathew Hemenway.

A private memorial will be held at a later date at the Fairmount Memorial Cemetery where there will be a small graveside service for family members.

Charlene was much loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
