Obituary: Mitchell, James Albert
Jim was born in Brookfield, Illinois, in October of 1932, to Bernadine and Bert Mitchell.
Jim was a graduate of the University of Illinois, followed by three years Military service, as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force.
He married Carol Bush in 1957 and resided in Spokane until his death.
Jim loved Spokane summers at Coeur d’Alene Lake, playing cards and boating; and winters, skiing on Schweitzer Mountain.
Jim worked with investments all his adult life, which he considered more fun than work.
He was a member of A.T.O.
Kiwanis Club, and a Unity Church of ACIM student.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Bernadine and Bert Mitchell.
He was survived by his wife Carol, of Spokane; children, Laurie Schwagerl, of Spokane, and Mike (Mary) Mitchell, of Seattle; grandchildren, Heather (Paul) Reinking, Danielle Mitchell and Stazia and Annya Petrick, all of Seattle; and great-granddaughters, Hayden and Addison Reinking, of Seattle.
Our special thanks to the staff at Rockwood, South Hill, for their wonderful care during his long illness and to the wonderful and kind people of Hospice of Spokane.
Thank you so much!
