Obituary: Minzel, Craig Wesley
Age 74
He was born on August 26, 1941 in Colville, WA, the second of three children to Dr. Wesley Charles Minzel and Meredith Rachel Hickman, both deceased.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Charles Mathew Minzel and his stepfather, Seymour “Si” Williams.
Craig is survived by his wife Janice “Jan” Lee Wells; his stepson Mark Fields (Trina); four grandchildren: Jacob, Zachery, Alyssa, and Robert; his sister Karen Lea Habbestad (John) of Spokane, WA; and their four children: Barry (Angie), Brian (Heather), Heidi (John) and Tiffany; and grandnephews: Matthew, Quinn, and Noah; and grandniece Taylor.
He graduated from Colville High School in 1959 and from the University of Idaho in 1965.
He was a seaman in the Merchant Marines.
He served in the Army in Korea as a cook.
He married Jan on June 5, 1977 at Stateline, Nevada.
He retired from the State of Washington in November 1997.
He enjoyed Thoroughbred Horse Racing, having raced in Washington, Canada, California, and Missouri.
He was a bridge player attaining Master status.
Craig and Jan enjoyed several cruises after retirement.
At his request no services were held.
He was a member of the Peoples Memorial Society.
The Viewing and Cremation were handled by Week’s Dryer Mortuary in Parkland.
