Obituary: Sprow, Mary Alice
Age 103
In 1945, they moved to Opportunity, WA where they raised a family built upon strong bonds of love and compassion for each other and the community.
Indeed, Mary Alice considered the cohesion of her extended family her greatest accomplishment.
Her life had a profound impact on four generations of a multicultural family and a community beyond the borders of her hometown.
Her capacity to love and nurture extended to 11 international students through the Rotary Exchange Program.
She was a longtime member of Rotary International and received its highest honor, the Paul Harris Fellow Award.
She also served on the Spokane Valley YMCA Board for many years, and was active in the Republican Party.
Mary Alice passed away, at her home, shortly after celebrating her 103rd birthday with her family.
She is survived by daughters: Anne Petersen, Ruth Roberts, Joan Ojerio, Sylvia Riddle, Lupe Wehr, and son James Sprow; 19 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; and nieces: Nancy Stimson, Paula Scott and Amy Fox.
